Pulmonary Rehab

Pulmonary rehab is by physician referral and is recommended for patients with lung diseases who frequently experience shortness of breath and struggle with daily activities.

Recovering from—and learning to live with—a chronic lung disease can put a strain not only on you but your loved ones . But here at Kearny County you are not alone. Here, you’ll have a whole team by your side, helping you control everyday symptoms and help you adapt to new lifestyle changes.

Pulmonary rehabilitation combines education and exercise to help better understand and manage chronic lung conditions. The comprehensive outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation program at KCH was designed with each patient’s unique needs and goals in mind. Our Team takes the time to evaluate your health and create an individualized exercise program to help you feel better and help you regain your independence.

What is Pulmonary Rehabilitation?

Your doctor or pulmonary specialist may recommend pulmonary rehabilitation as part of your treatment plan if you live with a lung disease like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

The pulmonary rehab team at KCH consists of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, exercise specialists, and dietitians. Together, they create a personalized plan tailored to meet your needs. Our program assists individuals in managing their symptoms, handling complications, regulating oxygen use and medications, and minimizing hospitalizations.

Pulmonary rehabilitation can help you:

  • Help manage and control your ongoing symptoms.
