High Plains Retirement Village is a welcoming, home-like community that provides a full range of professional nursing services for assisted living and long-term care, as well as memory care. Our mission is to provide quality, compassionate healthcare services for our community to enrich the lives of our families, friends and neighbors.
Our community members all reside in the same connected facility, with access to services, amenities and care that meet their specific needs. We tailor care to our residents’ abilities instead of what they cannot do. We are large enough to offer many choices to our residents, yet small enough for them to receive personal attention and maintain their individuality and as much independence as possible.
We treat all people with dignity and recognize their self-worth, making every effort to ensure their basic rights to courtesy and privacy. At High Plains, we offer the independence you desire and the support you need, providing peace of mind for the whole family.
For people who enjoy being active but may need some additional support with routine tasks, we offer our assisted living services. Residents receive assistance as needed in their own apartment while having access to whatever activities and amenities they find interesting. We are here to support independence and choice in a caring, comfortable environment.
Our assisted living residents may choose from studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom private apartments on South East Country Lane or North Circle Lane, the cozy halls in the assisted living wing. Ranging from 355 to 900 square feet, our apartments offer the following features:
Our long-term care services, found in the Cherry Creek wing, provide a higher level of personalized assistance with activities of daily living, with additional staff and support. We offer specialized, individual care to enhance quality of life, with activities based on the residents’ interests, cognition and physical abilities. In addition, we prioritize open and consistent one-on-one communication with residents and their families.
Long-term care residents may have a private or semi-private room, depending on preference and availability.
These amenities are available to our assisted living and long-term care residents:
The following additional services are included for long-term care. Assisted living residents are encouraged to talk with us if they are interested in receiving any of these services:
As a crucial part of maintaining positive health and well-being for our community members, we offer a wide range of creative, fun and engaging activities and events.
Upon admission to High Plains, each resident provides a detailed assessment of their interests. This allows us an opportunity to develop activity programs that are well-suited for each person. Some examples of our activities:
Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia requires patience, expertise and customized treatment. Specialized staff at High Plains offer an open unit. integrated care approach, providing personal care that enhances the quality of life for each community member by maximizing their individual level of functionality and minimizing frustration. Our memory care staff undergoes training and continuing education every three months to stay updated on best practices and providing outstanding dementia-capable care.
Our open integrated unit includes secured doorways and alarms over the entire HPRV, provides a safe environment for community members while allowing them to maintain their dignity and respect. Activities are based on the residents’ interests, cognition and physical abilities, focusing more on the individual as opposed to a set schedule.
