Mark Frakes, MD, FAAFP

FAMILY MEDICINE

Dr. Mark Frakes is board-certified in family medicine and joined Kearny County Hospital as a Full Spectrum Family Physician in May 2021, bringing additional subspecialties in obstetrics, hospital medicine/hospitalist and women’s health. His medical interests include rural health care delivery, high-risk obstetrics, critical care medicine, and electronic health record (EHR) utilization and integration.

Dr. Frakes received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, IL, and completed his residency in family medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center in Bryan, TX, with additional training in obstetrics and endoscopy. Before joining Kearny County Hospital, Dr. Frakes practiced family medicine at CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, TX, and Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck, TX. In addition to providing patient care, he taught and supervised medical students and residents as a clinical assistant professor. Originally from Carthage, IL, Dr. Frakes earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
