Please join us in welcoming Joseph Flax, PA-C, to Kearny County Hospital. A certified Physician Assistant, Joseph officially joins the team on July 14 and will begin seeing patients at the Family Health Center in Lakin soon after. He will also provide on-call coverage in the hospital’s Emergency Room.

Joseph earned his master’s degree as a Physician Assistant from Kansas State University in 2025, where he previously completed his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and integrative physiology. While pursuing his education, Joseph developed a special interest in preventive primary care and geriatric medicine. He always knew he wanted to practice in a rural community.

A native of Hays, Kan., Joseph spent summers working on his family farm and is passionate about delivering exceptional family medicine in western Kansas. He enjoys spending time with family and friends and participating in outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and working with horses.
