Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehab is a monitored exercise
and educational program for patients with heart disease who are at risk for
heart disease. Our program is under the direction of a physician and
combines the expertise of several disciplines to best serve the patient.
The cardiac rehab team includes physicians, nurses, dietitians, and physical
therapists. The goal focus on improving the patients cardiac symptoms and
quality of life.

What
is the Program Design?
Phase
II CR 6-12
The program is up to twelve weeks in duration,
two/three days per week, and consists of individualized aerobic and anaerobic
exercises. The patient's electrocardiogram and blood pressure are
monitored during the aerobic exercises, include stretching, muscle toning and
weight training. The program also includes educational sessions designed
to help both patients and their families understand heart disease, risk factors,
nutrition, medications, and stress management. The sessions are led by
experts who provide ample opportunity for questions and answers.
Phase III/IV
This program is a monitored workout. Blood
Pressure, SPO2, and heart rate are check upon request. Sessions are done
on a monthly basis, 2 days a week.
Enrollment Requirements

A stress test done within one year prior to
enrollment. (Stress tests can be performed by the primary physician or
by the cardiac rehabilitation staff.) This is not required, but
advised.

A prescription for Phase II Cardiac
Rehabilitation. (Can be written by primary physician or cardiologist.)

Documented proof of primary diagnosis, from
referring physicians notes.
